The Current Proposed Farm Bill Falls Short!

Lauren talked with Dylan Domangue on KWCH 12 about the priorities that must be included in a Farm Bill, and that such a bill needs to be passed ASAP. She also stressed the need for stable trade policies, citing beef prices, adding that she supports 'country of origin' labels. In addition, Lauren discussed the significant impact on the overall community in SW Kansas during the recent ICE raids, which she noted are likely to occur again.

Regarding data centers, she noted that while there are some roles for the federal government to play (multistate waters such as the Ogalala aquifer, and environmental impacts), the decisions should be under local control. In contrast to the incumbent representative, Lauren committed to voting to protect Kansans from the stark costs of going to war, and to protect Kansans healthcare, noting the cuts in the so-called 'Big Beautiful Bill' will cause further closures of rural hospitals.
